Getting to Cortes Island

Part of the reason Cortes Island is so stunning is its relative remoteness. There are a variety of methods to arrive at Cortes Island, and the trip itself is part of the adventure!

The most direct way to Cortes Island is by float plane. Service is available from Seattle by Kenmore Air or from Vancouver by Van City Seaplanes. Alternatively, many travelers prefer to fly into Victoria and enjoy the city for a day or two before continuing on to Cortes Island.

For our independent adventurers, both Greyhound and IslandLink offer regularly scheduled buses from Victoria and Nanaimo to Campbell River. BC Ferries offers regularly scheduled service from Campbell River to Quadra Island, and from Quadra Island to Cortes Island. Please be aware that Ferry service does not include transportation across Quadra Island (perfect opportunity to ask the friendly locals for a ride), and that the final ferry connecting to Cortes Island leaves Campbell River at 6:15PM.
